Happiness: Your Choice or Right

246 Views

“It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life and the pursuit of happiness. And I remembered thinking, how did he know to include the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and may be we can actually never have it, No matter what. How did he know that? Chris Gardner, The Pursuit of Happyness.

More than ever before we go through unhappy circumstances. In fact as we grow from childhood to more roles and responsibilities, its easier to be unhappy than happy. If we think it  through, we’ll realise that a couple of times we’re unhappy for no traceable reason. As children of God, happiness should not be a pursuit but our default way of life. Happiness is our covenant right but we have to make a constant choice to walk in it.

To daily walk in happiness, here are few things we need to do

  • Give your life to Christ- This is a pre-requisite; do this and happiness will be your covenant right.
  • Fellowship with God-The more we fellowship with God the more He instructs us on the best decision to make. If we obey Him, all your desires according to His will, will be made manifest and our needs will be met. {Seek yea first… Matthew 6:3}
  • Do God’s will and work- This one is a secret. Whenever we do His work for example, pursuing our ministry,  useyour gifts and talents to bless others; He handles anything that concerns us with great speed and perfection.

Whatever the circumstance that’s making you unhappy, be it pain, sickness, heartbreak, emotional imbalance or the lose of a loved one, turn it over to Jesus by following  the steps above. Then, you’ll experience true happiness and joy beyond human comprehension.

How did God bring your joy back form an unhappy state? I will love to read your experience.

Don’t forget happiness is your right but you have to make a choice to live happy.

Love you & God Bless you
