That Beautiful Morning

One beautiful morning, while humming as the refreshing water of the shower temporary made me forget the equatorial climate; my attention was suddenly drawn to a sound. It had started in a subtle manner but this time, it was louder and rather persistent.

My mind raced as I thought; could it be the trumpet sound? Rapture? Judgement day? Could this be the announcement that God has come to take His own to heaven while those who haven’t obeyed him go to hell?

In response to the rather fast pace of my thoughts; I subtly muttered, “Lord, I know that when the trumpet sounds, I will ascend to heaven and be found as a true child of God”. Interestingly, I found peace as I muttered those words.

Seconds after, my attention was drawn to my face brush which I had temporarily placed in the toothbrush rack.

How I laughed…Apparently, I had not turned off the button on my face brush, in other words, the supposed trumpet sound was as a result of the friction between my vibrating face brush and the toothbrush rack :).

A story I will never forget

I definitely would not forget this story easily, as it made me think, ‘How many people in a similar scenario would be at peace and would be confident that they are in the right standing with God?’

If the trumpet were to sound this very second, will you ascend to heaven (an unfathomable paradise with no sorrow or pain) or will you descend to hell (a place of torture, turmoil and gnashing of teeth)?

God loves you and there is no greater way to love him back than to make him the Lord of your life. Have you given your life to Christ? If you haven’t, please confess the preceeding verse

Romans 10: 9-10 ‘I openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that God raised him from the dead, therefore I am saved. I believe in my heart that I am made right with God, I openly declare my faith that I are saved’.
