“And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately”
Matthew 24:6 NIV
These past weeks has been a tough one for me. Having close relatives residing in Isreal at this time of the Isreal-Hamas war is a true test of faith. After hearing the news of war, questions raced through my mind. “Are they okay today? Are they close to the war zone or places of attack? Should they abort their good intentions and return to their father land? What next if they return? Does God still have an assignment for them there? It’s when one has life, one can fulfill purpose/one’s assignment right? Like Esther, have they been put there for such a time as this? What exactly is the Lord saying?
As these numerious questions raced through my mind I took a rapid stop. Then asked God. “What are you saying” and immediately I saw an image that depicted “flourishing” and the scripture Luke 19:11-19 NIV was laid in my heart.
The Parable of the Minas
11 Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. 12 Therefore He said: “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. 13 So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come.’ 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’
15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. 16 Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ 17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ 19 Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’ Luke 19:11-19 NIV
I was dumbfounded, the scenario was precise. On the other hand, another round of peaceful questions arose, What does this mean with regards to my relatives. Clearly they will return but should they return now? The nobleman in the parable clearly went through challenges as mentioned in verse 14. 14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’However the parable continues with 15 “And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom. This tells us depsite the tribulation, he received the kingdom.
I have learnt that as christians, we all receive in parts and pieces for a reason (1Corinthians 13:9) God wants us to collabrate and not to live in isolation. While he gives one the anchor verse, to another could have the deeper insight, then another the next line of action to fast track the breakthrough.
After receiving the scripture, I reached out to a spiritual mentor and confidant and these were her words.
The scripture confirms their return. Which is the same conviction I have. I also believe they are there for a purpose. We will pray that nothing will truncate God ‘s plan for them in Jesus name. When I receive more understanding I will let you in to it.
Even in the mist of war, destiny can be fulfilled. Remember Modecai’s words to Esther, Esther 4:14b AMPC
And who knows but that you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this and for this very occasion? We may not know but continue to pray and have faith in the God who took them there. Bill Winston said something in one of his messages that God can send you to waste land for the purpose of making it like Eden. That was the purpose of God sending Abraham to Canaan to fix it. All this are running through my mind but I am praying and seeking God for clarity and direction
Jehovah Nissi | The Lord is My Banner
Somedays went by and I was led to revisit a scripture in Exodus, which had recently jumped at me recently.
According to Exodus 17:8–16 The Amalekites attacked isreal and it had been revealed that the winning strategy was that Joshua and his men would fight, while Moses stands at the top of the hill with the staff of God in his hands. As long has his hands were lifted up they won, when his hand lowered down due to being weary they were being overpowered so Aaron had to support Moses to ensure Moses hands remained steady till sunset. Jehovah-Nissi means the LORD is our banner, mighty warrior and victory. A banner today is like a sign or flag. You see them often at sporting events or war zones to show whose team you are for.
How does this relate to my situation & The Isreal-Hamas War?
Several days after, after one of the Hallelujah challenge, God revealed to me that as long as Isreal, the body of Christ and Isreal Praise God, The battle is won. As long as we Praise and as long as our hands are lifted up in Praise.
Isreals war is our war as the body of Christ. Christ is tagged as the shoot from the stump of Jesse Isaiah 11:1. See an image which captures the geneology of Jesus.
There is a blessing attached to those who pray and support Isreal. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: “May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels. Psalm 122:6-7. The Call of Abram. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed. Genesis 12:3
Christians it’s time to Praise until Isreal has the victory. Let’s Raise our hands in Praise to our God. Let’s charge the next person to praise.
Lastly, the media can be tactically deceitful. Should you need verified information on Isreal & Hamas war, kindly visit the Isreal Defense Force on Facebook Page on https://www.facebook.com/idfonline or https://www.instagram.com/idf/ (@idf) on instagram.
I Love You & Don’t forget to Praise
God Bless you
Thank you for sharing this Oluwatosin, I believe this is the mind of God for the war between Israel and Hamas. Unfortunately people misunderstood this to be between Israel and Palestinian which is far from the truth. The intentions of Hamas against Israel stands against the word of God and no one can fight against God’s word and win; but God has already given His verdict in Psalm 2 ( you can read).
He is Yahweh Sabaoth and he is greatly to be praised!
